Access Control
Overview
In some instances, it is important to identify people that enter a site.  In many cases, Electric Locks at gates and doors form part of the Access Control application.  However, at times, it is enough to know that an authorized person is on the site, eliminating the need for electric locks.  In these cases, presentation of a card and the entering of a Personal Identification Number (PIN) provides information to those that are monitoring the site that the activity is authorized.

Card Readers
IRISS is an HID Advantage Channel Partner.  HID
provides  the industry’s most extensive line of powerful,
versatile readers. HID Global’s reader solutions enable
a broad scope of applications powered by secure
contactless technology.

Card Readers are housed in rugged, weatherized polycarbonate enclosure, designed to withstand harsh environments (IP 55 rated), with temperature ratings from -30 to 75 degrees C.  They provides reliable performance and resistance to vandalism. A tamper switch in the reader housing facilitates the notification of a tamper alarm.
Cards and KeyFobs
For credentials IRISS provides either wireless Keyfobs or rugged wireless Cards, usually called Proximity Cards.  These credentials ensure that the owner has a unique credential, and along with a keypad entry provides a high level of security.
Access Control Software
IRISS supplies software to manage who and when a person can access a site, doors, or gates.  The software allows the system administrator to provide access to one person, or a group of people to either one site or multiple sites.  IRISS provides full training to the site administrator.  IRISS will also provide Access Control Management as a value added service.
Alarm Management
If doors or gates that are connected to the Access Control System are forced open or left open too long, an alarm is generated. This alarm is seemlessly integrated into the Nomad Series 3000, pushing the alarm to an Alarm Monitoring Company, and the *Customer's Site Locator WEB page.  The alarm can also be sent along to any email address provided by the customer..
